Chaz Bond is known as the man who founded his former band Biogenesis and eventually replaced David Taylor as the new front man of Jacobs Dream.
Chaz began his journey at a very young age singing in the school choir and taking vocal lessons. Over the years he would form and join many bands until 1996 when he began the formation of Biogenesis. Following one album and a tour with Mortification Biogenesis began playing shows with Jacobs Dream during the “Theater Of War” tour. Shortly after the tour original front man David Taylor chose to leave the band. Finally in late 2003 Chaz officially joined Jacobs Dream. Then in 2005 his début album with the band “Drama Of The Ages” was released.

Musical Background: I started playing guitar at the age of 16.
My 3rd grade music teacher (public school) thought
I had talent or something, but I was busy with more important things (or so I thought)
Like baseball, football and basketball.
I started playing in bands about six months after I started playing guitar.
We just covered other bands like, Rush, The Rolling Stones,
Led Zeppelin and you need to remember this was the late 70’s.
About ten years later and a lot of bad renditions of Stairway To
Heaven, I joined a bad called Iron Angel, that later became
Jacobs Dream.
Personal Interest: I spend a lot of my time in the spring, summer and fall riding my bike.
(The kind you power yourself) I try to ride about twenty miles a day.
I also love Football and baseball. My favorite football team is the Chicago Bears and
Of coarse the Indians is my favorite baseball team.

Born in central Ohio to two deaf parents, I did not start playing guitar until about 20 yrs. of age.
Music has always been a part of my family and has seemed to be bred into our genes.
I am an original member of Jacobs Dream dating back to the Iron Angel days. My Greatest hope after all is said & done is that God is pleased and I have the opportunity to use the music to benefit all who hear it.
John Berry
Been playing guitar for Jacobs dream ever since we started calling ourselves Jacobs Dream back in 96 or 97,
though I have been associated with these lunatics since 1988 in one way or another.
Gear: everyone knows by now I’m sick in the head for pointy guitars. Mom tried to warn me!
I really like a polished, Marshally lead tone, syrupy clean tones and whatever rhythm tones Jon Noble tells me to use. As far what gear it takes to achieve that end, it does not matter and is subject to change without notice.
I currently play: A homemade black rhoadsish looking flying V. Dimarzio super distortion pickup, EMG electronics, and Floyd Rose trem.
An ESP lawsuit model explorer, Jackson j-90 c pickup,EMG electronics, no trem.
A white Charvelle Charvette, stock pickups and trem, Roland GK2 synth pickup.
Roland GR1 guitar synth also GR9 and GR30.
Carlo Robelli 12 string acoustic, Dean Markley pickup.
Zoom Gfx 8 processer.
Nady wireless.
2 Laney 412 cabs
Crate powerblock power amp.

Message to the fans:
You people are awesome, insane, and yet discriminating cosumers of fine entertainment. Keep the faith!
Favorite band related memory to date: That would involve a flight where i was seated next to an unnamed band member who was experiencing serious gastrointenstinal distress but was unaware of it because he was sleeping. Anyway to make a long story short he awoke to find all the little air jet thingys in the ceiling around us were pointed at him and our fellow travelers scowling with disgust.
STAY TRUE!

My introduction to music started at a young age. When I was in elementary school, I started with piano lessons. Later I took on the cello in the school string group. The cello didn’t feel quite right so I switched to the bass. I spent a few years playing upright bass in as many as three different orchestras. At about age 14, I started playing electric bass in the school jazz band. Later that year I started exploring the possibilities of starting a band. At age 15, I got together with a couple friends from school and had a short lived stint playing covers like Poison and Kiss. It was the eighties and it was cool. After leaving that group I met John Berry and Gary Holtzman. We got to know each other and by the time we decided to start playing together, John was playing with Jon Noble. Gary decided to switch to drums and thus started Iron Angel. Dave Taylor came along through a mutual friend and we continued on. In 1991 I left the band to go to college and ultimately get married and start my life away from home while the band continued. Then one day in 1997, Gary called and informed me that the current bass player was leaving and asked me if I wanted to return. I said yes and the band was now called Jacobs Dream. I’ve been through a lot with this group, good and bad, but there is no other group of guys I’d rather spend my time with. It’s just comfortable.
As far as gear is concerned, I prefer 6-string basses mainly because of their lower range. My current road basses are Ibanez Sound Gears. My studio bass is a 5-string Warwick Streamer. The Warwick has the ability to run passive or active so it is very versatile. I like my sound to be low and full. I use a GK 800 RB to power my rig. I use a 4-10 cabinet along with a 1-15. I don’t like being tied to the amp so I use my Nady 201 wireless system. I prefer nickel coated strings because they reduce the zipping noise. I am always open to new ideas in the equipment realm but this is just what suits me right now.
I love to play out and travel. Hopefully the opportunity will arise that we can do a lot more of it. I hope to see you on the road and if I do, come up and say hey. I like meeting and talking with fans, old and new.
